Florence, the Cradle of Renaissance, is a city-museum, walking through the streets of the city is like traveling through history and art. This is the magic of Florence!

There is a lot to visit, of course is impossible to see everything the first time, you are spoilt for choice, but I’ll try to give you a taste.

Piazza Duomo with the most important sacred monuments of the city, the Baptistry and its doors, the Giotto Bell Tower and the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore well known for the Brunelleschi’s Dom; Piazza della Repubblica rebuilt in the nineteenth century above the ancient forum of Roman Florentia, with the ancient Tuscan carousel and some of Florence’s historic cafes, as Paszkowski and Gilli; Piazza della Signoria  the centre of civic power, with Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall, the Lanzi loggias and a lot of statues, also the copy of the David by Michelangelo, the original one is visible at Galleria dell’ Accademia. The famous Uffizi Gallery, where we can admire some masterpieces as La Primavera and La nascita di Venere by Botticelli, Il Tondo Doni by Michelangelo, La Medusa and Il Bacco by Caravaggio and more, Palazzo Pitti, the royal palace of Florence, and Boboli garden considerd the most famous Italian Renaissance garden with the works of great artists, an open-air museum, in addition to having unique view of Florence on the Arno river and its bridges you can walk on the romantic Ponte Vecchio.  Don’t miss the leather markets, the Mercato Centrale, really a food experience and the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, the oldest pharmacy in the world, dating back to 1221, and still carries out its activity in the places where they began, an explosion of colors and scents. Florence is also the place where you can taste a lot of local traditional Tuscan food and is where was born Negroni cocktail, so I invite you to find you favourite place to try it.

The beauty of Florence is to take the time to walk around and get lost in its alleys and shops, letting yourself be captivated by its charm, there are corners that definitely leave you breathless.
